Here's my beast, a Gamer XT with some improvements. It was interesting, because last week the Cosmos S was available and this week, it's gone  - replaced by the Corsair Obsidian 800d ( A great case), which I went with.
Also, who no Antec cases? which seems off with such great builds @ CyberPower?

Anyways - comments, suggestions - are appreciated!

Would recommend dropping the sound card - onboard sound is good.  all the extra wiring upgrades are not needed with that case, and CP does a good job without the extra charge.  Anti-vibration fan mounts break easily during shipping.  Get 1600Mhz ram - will make a difference.  Good luck

As far as your case, I went with a different approach.

The corsair case is by no means bad, just expensive. Personally, I think the corsair case looks very sleek and is one of the best looking cases CP sells... if that's your reasoning for choosing it I can totally respect that.

In terms of functionality and getting the biggest bang for your buck:

If you intend on sticking with an air cooled system then I would consider a cheaper case... like the storm sniper. This case with no fan options would save you $131, be able to accommodate most anything you would want to install in it while maintaining a cool environment for your CPU and graphics card. However, if you later intended on upgrading to a water cooled system then the corsair is probably the better choice.

The suggestions previously made by lawyertal are very good and worth considering... those will also free up some coin to save or spend elsewhere on things which may matter more.

at the moment it is, yes.

It all depends on what approach you want to take.

The socket 1366 is said to be the same socket that the next gen of intel chips will utilize. So basically it is a question of whether or not you want to upgrade the CPU down the road. That and how well either of the chips you are weighing against one another can be overclocked.

Personally, I went with a i7 920 and I intend on upgrading that to the best thing the 1366 socket can handle in around 1 1/2  - 2 yrs.
